Paratattvaganitadarsanam

Egometry or Principles of Transcendental Philosophy of Mathematical Truth. A collection of 108 aphorisms with elaborate commentary in an attempt to bring out clearly the intimate link existing between Mathematical and Metaphysical truth. The treatise shows, in particular, that Advaita Vedanta articulates mathematical truths whose validity is absolute. Paratattvaganitadarsanam provides the basic framework based on which the statement “A part is equal to the whole” is shown to be a true statement.

This conclusion is arrived at on the basis of the fact that Mathematics has the capacity to articulate transcendental truths, which are beyond our normal capabiities (of understanding). The material is presented in the form of a dialogue between two main characters – A Vedantin and a Mathematician, both standing on a common platform of impartial and earnest inquiry into the Absolute and attaintment of the Highest Wisdom.
